The nebular region around Antares in the constellation Scorpius
More than 3 years after the first image, the mosaic of the Antares region is done. In the course of time 2 cameras and 2 optics were used for the mosaic.
The field shows the region between Antares, the main star of Scorpius, and the scissor stars. Here, various nebulae and dark clouds meet and create the most colorful region in the entire sky.
The brightening at the left of the image is caused by the planet Jupiter, which was just outside the image field at the time when this part of the mosaic was taken.
