NGC 6752 - Globular Cluster in the constellation Pavo
NGC 6752 is a rather rarely shown, magnificent globular cluster in the constellation Pavo. It is the third brightest globular cluster in the sky after Omega Centauri and 47 Tucanae and contains well over 100,000 stars.
In the image there are several faint galaxies visible, all of them several hundred million light-years away from Earth. At the left edge is IC 4836, a barred spiral galaxy about 200 million light-years away with the double diameter of our Milky Way. The bright blue star in the cluster is a foreground star and does not belong to the cluster.
