NGC 3199 - Reflection Nebula in the constellation Carina
The nebula NGC 3199, also known as Banana Nebula, is an arc-shaped shock front around the central Wolf-Rayet star WR 18. Wolf-Rayet stars are exceptionally hot, massive and produce extremely strong stellar winds and gas ejections that excite the surrounding interstellar medium to glow.
