Northern Lights in Norway on 27 October 2025

On the second day of our week-long stay in Norway, we were already lucky enough to see the aurora. There were still many clouds above our cabin, but through brief gaps we were able to catch the first arcs and structures in the sky.
The forecast indicated that the edge of the weather front was only a few kilometres away. So we drove about ten kilometres west and were rewarded with a beautiful first aurora display.

No matter what the weather would bring over the next few days, everyone had already witnessed bright, moving aurora. For me, it was the first time in seven years and for the others, the very first time ever. The aurora gamble had already paid off, especially for such a short trip :-) and the next days are promising.
