Large Magellanic Cloud in the constellations Mensa and Dorado

The Large Magellanic Cloud is the largest satellite galaxy of our Milky Way and together with the Small Magellanic Cloud a prominent pair in the southern sky. Their appearance is dominated by a mighty bar surrounded by an asymmetric spiral arm.
The image shows a variety of individual stars, star clusters, and luminous gas nebulae across the galaxy.
