M 104 - Sombrero Galaxy in the constellation Virgo (the Virgin)
The galaxy M 104 is a spiral galaxy seen from the side at the border of the constellations Virgo and Corvus. Remarkable features are the extremely bright core area and the prominent dust band, which reminds of a giant sombrero.
