B 142 and B 143 – Molecular Clouds in the constellation Eagle
The two dark clouds Barnard 142 and 143 form a cosmic letter, the so-called E nebula. These are dark and cool molecular clouds that strongly attenuate and in some cases completely block the light of the stars. The bright star on the left is Tarazed (γ Aquilae), an orange giant star in the head of the eagle.
