M 78 - Reflection nebula in the constellation Orion
The bright reflection nebula M 78 is located in the eastern part of the well-known constellation Orion. It is the brightest reflection nebula in the night sky and is surrounded by 3 other nebulae with an NGC designation. The surrounding background nebulae are significantly fainter.
