NGC 2040 - Emission nebula and star cluster in the constellation Dorado
This field is part of the northern Large Magellanic Cloud and shows several star clusters as well as various emission nebulae. The ring-shaped nebula NGC 2020 in the lower right corner is one of the most unusual in the image and will certainly be photographed again with more exposure time.
